The Birdhouse About us

A family owned and established business, we opened in 1992 as a educational retail store, we have grown through 2 locations in downtown Madison, both on Main Street. With the support of our customers and a quality staff we’ve made our 3rd location at 108 East Main a permanent home.

We specialize in quality advice and products. The store is a one-stop wild bird and nature shop offering a complete line of Birdhouses and Feeders, Garden Décor, Wind Chimes, Binoculars, Books, Clothing, Jewelry, Totes, Nature Gifts, and more. Kids can explore Toys, Puzzles, Puppets and Games.

Here’s what a walk through the store is like. As you enter the store you hear calming music with singing birds calling you inside. Bird houses line the walls to your right while cool t-shirts and caps line the walls to your left.

When you continue to walk through the store a giant fun-filled birdhouse rises on the left side of the store. Exploring further you notice high quality easy-care feeders. Here you find the perfect easy-to-clean cardinal feeder you’ve been looking for.

In the heart of the store you discover the CD and book library filled with sounds of nature that you can take home with you. There are floor to ceiling book shelves loaded with books to answer your nature questions.

Looking ahead you see a inviting garden with just the décor for your yard. Stepping stones, wind chimes, bird baths and sundials make you long for the backyard garden.

Just across the fence you see a campfire glowing in the distance. You enter Camp Discovery and find lots of games and puzzles for family fun time, along with some cool hiking and camping stuff. Through the window you see some good things to eat, recipe books and mugs in the Camp Kitchen.
